On the second day that Tesla Cybercab was open to the public in Austin, blogger Dave Lee took two rides, each over 40 minutes. His verdict: better than expected.

✅ The good parts

- Lots of legroom, quiet interior, comfortable seats

- 22-inch large screen, nothing blocking the front, reclining the seat to watch YouTube is like watching TV at home

- No steering wheel, pedals, or dashboard, so there's none of the awkward feeling of "where did the driver go"; he said it actually made him feel safer

⚠️ The shortcomings

- The chassis is on the stiff side, close to the ride feel of Model 3, and could be tuned to be more comfortable

- The windows can only be opened a small crack

- On average you have to wait 40 to 45 minutes to get a car

💡 His judgment: once a city has several thousand Cybercabs and the wait time drops to around 5 minutes, the shape of ride-hailing may be rewritten.
